Shout Out!!

Chapter 10 - The fallen
Yellow dust covered the air. Howling in the distances, even the wolves sense fear and death approaching. The ground beneath them began to tremble. Bin Li suddenly looked up.

Jessica looked at him, 'Bin Li, what...'

'Shh...'

The view before them was a vast field of greenery and hills. The two of them stood there, a feeling of anxiety arising. Bin Li leaned forward to loisten, as if expecting somethig. There was a couple of seconds of silence, and then, a huge flock of birds suddenly flew into the air from the forest before them. Bin Li'e eyes grew wide. He suddenly took Jessica by the hand, and dragged her back into the command room.

The door of the command room blasted open. Before he could even speak, the alarms went off.

'Code Red! Code Red! There's a breach in sector A.'

Jessica looked around, and there, on the computer screen before them, countless red dots were visible on the screen.

Young approached the command table. 'Impossible... they couldn't have found us so quickly....'

Jessica looked at Bin Li, who glanced back, and nodded.

'EVERYONE LISTEN UP!'

THe entire command room went silent.

'Its time.... it's time...'

Everyone in the room had a preplexed look on their faces. Everyone knew what they had to do. So many years of planning, so much effort put in... it finally boiled down to this very moment.

Jessica spoke again.

'Cheng You is here....'

As the trees began to clear, an open field was visible between Block D and Block C. A huge patch of grass laid before them, a clear blue lake deviding the two. Centuries ago, a large stone bridge was built to connect the two sides. After Chong You took over the school, he burnt tha bridge after driving WeiLee's forces off to exile, in an attempt to discourage them to return. But it is that same bridge that had kept Y.Hong's army hidden for so many years.

'Hm.... who would have guessed... They built their base right under my nose all this time..' CHeng You said, as he stood on a large boulder, gazing at the other side of the lake. Several workers were already at work, shipping materials from one corner of the lake to the other, rebuilding the bridge. A vast terrain of hills and rocky paths awaited them. Perfect for ambushes, awaited them. Behind him, an immense number of foor soldiers stood at attention, M16s at the ready, forming one hundred neatly lined rows. In front of each platoon, stood a commanding officer, thier feather berets fluttering in the evening wind.

Cheng You took a step forward, and landed on the grass before him. Eight officers with feather berets stood before him, but they had a golden cross on thier right shoulders. Cheng's personal bodyguards, or Vanguards.

In the distance, calm breezes blew past, rustling the leaves in its wake.

Suddenly, Cheng You's gaze drew sharp. He turned to one of the Vanguards.

'Tell me.. how many people does it need to tell Y.Hong we're here?'

The Vanguard smiled. 'One'.

Out of nowhere, Cheng You suddenly snatched up one the Vanguard's pistol, pointed it afar, and opened fire. A cry of pain later, a red-uniformed soldier fell from one of the trees over the opposite side of the lake, lying dead on the floor.

The Vanguard with the biggest cross came forward. 'The other one?'

Cheng You dropped the pistol. 'No... let him live.'

'SOmeone has to tell them we're here...'

'They would know by now... By all means... 'He' is there with them.'

Cheng You drew his saber and began toying with the sharp edge. 'Yes... the last Black Op captain Bin Li..... He'll be a pain.'

The Vanguard captain smiled. 'He's mine.'

Cheng You smirked. 'By all means, Chee Heng... By all means....'

The soldier ran for his life. He couldn;t believe Cheng You's skills were that powerful. This was bad. He had to tell Jessica. He had to...

Over the ridge, Cheng You suddenly stood up again, and aimed the pistol.

'You know.... I thought you only needed you mouth to speak..'

Chee Heng and the other Vanguards laughed, as the pistol was fired again.

The soldier suddenly froze in his tracks, as immense pain surged through his body.

'Impossible...' as he looked down. Both his legs were bleeding from his knees down, and fell to the ground. Grimmacing in pain, he draged himself towards the gate of Y.Hong's hidden base. The war had began.
