Shout Out!!

Chapter 4 - The Hard Decision
Jessica walked out to the varendah, and let out a loud sigh. Far away, the sound of a roaring engine fading away into the distance could only mean one thing. General Y. Hong was gone. Once that man set his mind to something, it was almost impossible to stop him. She above anyone should know that. They both started in the army together, and were the closest of peers. But above all, she knew he had to go....

Slowly, she turned back, and walked away from the sunlight. As she headed back to her office, there was a loud stumble. Two guards shouted.

'Sir, stop this instant, you cant just go barging in....'

With one quick move, a dagger was pulled out of nowhere, and the guard fell to the ground, his throat slit open, blodd oozing out of the wound. Before the dagger was struck on the next guard, Jessica flew forward, and caught the assasin's arms in time.

'Sound the alarm!'

The assasin broke free from her grip, and started to run. Jessica pulled out her pistol, and fired, missing the assasin by inches. A squadroon of guards appeared behind her.

'Search the entire perimeter! I want him found!'

The guards saluted, and spread out on the search.

As Jessica rushed to the command room, she couldn't help but think..

'Thank God you're not here.'

As he walked deeper into the hallway, he could sense that something was not right. The air was getting thin, and breathing was geting more and more difficult. The long arched walkway stopped at a dead end, a huge brick wall from one end to another. He reached out his hand and prodded the wall. It was cemented tight. He gropped around, trying find a way through, but to no avail. Finally, as his hands reached the end of the wall, he found a loose brick. Quickly, he pushed it inwards, and the wall began to edge sideways, revealing a hidden passageway. Just as he tried to make the first step, there was a loud clank.

It happened so fast that even he couldn't sense it. The two spears pierced itself on the walls, missing his head by the skin of his teeth. There was obviously something inside BLock B that Cheng didn't want him to see. But strangely, there were no guards. He placed his hand tightly on his katana, and edged forward, carefully this time.

Alex panted all the way through the woods. His entire platoon of 15 now came dwn to 3, himself included. The rest must still be fighting.... that man. It must have been the exhaustion, as Bee began to feel heavier and heavier behind his back. He had to tell Y.Hong.... he had to tell him... He pushed forward, as the trees began to clear and they arrived at a clearing. He ran behind some boulders, and placed Bee down carefully. The other two guards covered him.

'Sir... it couldn't be him.... right?'

Alex looked at the soldier, silent. His expression was grim.

'But sir.... it couldn't be. We all saw him... he was shot.. in the head! And...'

'That's enough!'

Alex took a look at the still unconcuos Bee. Then back at the soldiers. 'I don't... care.... It's impossible. But that dooesn't matter. We have to let Y.Hong know what's going on...'

'Sir? what do you mean...?'

Alex stopped him, and looked into the skies.

'This war.... is lost.'
