Shout Out!!

Chapter 11
He could see nothin but white light. He moved around him. There as nothing around him, only emptyness. He tried to see ahead of him, but the neam of white light was too strong. Suddenly, he could hear a voice... beckonning him.. calling him....

'Come.... come to me...'

He reached out his hand. Could it really be? Everything in this world, all the pain, was about to fade away. He was about to feel at peace again... He took a step closer, then another.. and then.. he stopped.

The voice was getting louder now.

'Come to me... come.....'

He looked down, and then suddenly, lifted his head up, and shouted 'NO!'

There was a blast of light, and then, silence.

Jing Kiat opened his eyes.

'Where... am I?'

He looked around him. The room seemed vaguely familiar, but he couldn't remember where. His vision was all ablur. Then, he saw her.

There she was.. standing before him, adjusting a towel above his head, then she took it down, and washed it again in a basin.

Jing Kiat thought to himself. 'So this was what heaven is like...' as Bee Yoke placed the towel back on his head again, then smiled.

'Oh... back so soon?' Cheng You said as a hooded figure approached the army, excorted by several green-uniformed soldiers.

'Yeah...' said the figure.

Cheng You smirked. 'I presume he's dead by now?'

The hood was taken off. 'Through the heart, like you said.' Siew Li said with a smile.

Cheng You laughed. 'Hahahaha! This is easier than I thought! Who would have guessed taking out Y.Hong's best officer was this easy!!' He glanced at Siew Li. 'But no one would have guessed, that you.. would betray them... Hm? Heh heh...'

Siew Li smiled, then turned and left.

'Before that..'

Siew Li stopped.

'Tell me again.... through the heart?'

There was a sparkle in her eye. SIew Li stood still, then turned and looked directly at Cheng You.

'You don't believe me?'

Cheng You smiled. 'No.... just to make sure....'

Siew Li's smile faded, as she turned, and left.

'Colonel Envy. So what do we do with their bodies?'

Envy came closer. 'Dispose of the unimportant one. I'll deal with Y.Hong's body myself.'

The soldier nodded, as he retreated, joining several others to settle and find the bodies of thier fallen comrades.

Envy came almost atop of Y.Hong's fallen body, and laughed. 'The great general Y.Hong... now dead... WHo would have guess?' As he said that, he came closer to the girl now before him, who was crying ay the top of her lungs. He held her by the chin and turned her watery eyes to his. 'And its all thanks to you...' and let go.

'Sorry... I'm so sorry...' she said, her hands trembling, the pistol that shot Y.Hong still clutched tightly in her shaking hands.

Envy laughed out loud. 'Killed by the person he was looking to save!! Killed by the one he loves!! Hahahaha!!!' and as he said that, kicked hard at Y.Hong's corpse.

What happened next was beyond imagination, as Envy's feet not only missed, but Y.Hong actually summasaulted, drew his pistol, and aimed it at Envy's head.

He looked at the trembling girl, and smiled.

'You're not Bee Yoke.. are you.'

The girl sobbed hard, but was almost too surprised to see the person she just fired at to be standing.

Y.Hong's pistol was aimed hard at Envy's. 'How'd... who'd you.....'

She looked at him, and nodded. Then, as if almost instantly, the words that escaped her lips were 'I'm sorry...'

Y.HOng looked at her. So.... alike... almost too alike.

Envy suddenly drew back, and stuck at Y.Hong. Without hesitation, Y.Hong backed as well, blocking Envy's punch. Both men backed, as Envy suddenly shouted, 'Fire!! Take him dow....'

Before he could even finish, Y.Hong had already opened fire, and shot the remaining soldiers in the chest, each falling dead to the ground even before they could raise thier rifles. All this was done with one hand in his pocket. Y.Hong walked forward, his pistol still raised. THen, there was a rustle of leaves, and a gunshot. Y.Hong edged his head to the left a little, and the sniper missed, and then returned fire, as his assailant let out a cry of aginy, and then, there was silence. The only people still allive were standing there by the riverside, and two of them had a pistol in thier hands.

Envy looked at Y.Hong, stunned. How could he have noticed, let alone blocked a sniper's shot so easily? Y.Hong turned at looked at Envy. 'You... you're still alive....' Envy smiled, 'So what if I am?' Y.Hong struck him below the jaw, and blood spluttered everywhere. Envy was stunned again.

'How could you....' AS he struck again. More blood was spluttered.

'I TRUSTED YOU!!' as he hit Envy with his knee, this time throwing him on the ground.

'How could you, Liao?'

Liao looked back at Y.Hong, wiping the blood off his mouth, and trembled to stand up. Then, he laughed.

Y.Hong grimmaced.

'You're a fool, Y.Hong..... You know you can't win this war.'

Hong pointed the pistol at Liao, his breath getting faster from anger. 'I entrusted Bee to you... You said you would take her to safety... You said..'

Liao laughed again. 'Entrusted? You're too weak!! What army? What freedom? It's all just a dream, Y.Hong!! There was no way you could win!! I sided with Cheng You the very first day I met you.. and promised to join yoiur stupid regime.'

'ANd the best thing I did....'

Y.Hong opened his mouth, stunned, as the words came out of Liao's mouth.

'I betrayed Bee Yoke over to Cheng You....'

'You BASTARD!!!' as he opened fire. But as he pulled the trigger, there as an empty click. Liao laughed, as he drew his own pistol.

'ANd now... you'll die as well....'

There was a gunshot, and a splutter of blood. Y.Hong was stunned, as the girl that looked so alike Bee Yoke stood before them, her chest bleeding. She looked at him, and smiled. That same smile, that same look on her face. 'I'm sorry...' and fell to the ground.

'YOU BASTARD!!!' Y.Hong shouted, as he rushed forward. Liao fired two more shots, that caught Y.Hong square in the shoulder and his knee, but the angered Y.Hong was not deterred. The last thing Liao heard and felt was the pistol knocked off his hand, and his skull cracking as Y.Hong twisted the neck of his ex-personal bodyguard, leaving him dead on the ground.
